GENERAL SANTOS CITY– Cong. Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao (Sarangani Province, lone district) sees his renewed faith in the word of God and bible as his ultimate calling after boxing.

This, he said, here recently, as he also declared his impending retirement in the sport that made him famous in the universe making him the only “eight division world champion”, a feat which is believe that could not be duplicated by any boxer even in the next century ahead.

Pacquiao said that his renewal of faith and bible preaching could be God’s mission to him after boxing, stressing, that after the Timothy Bradley fight, he might already retire barring no big developments in the sport that made him famous.

Yan ang paraan na sumikat ako, hindi lang dito sa Pilipinas kundi sa buong mundo tapos yung nandoon na ako, sikat na ako, tinawag na nya ako kasi alam niya na mas marami ang makikinig sa akin pag ako ang nagsasalita” (Boxing made me famous not only here in the Philippines but around the world and I am there already, he (God) already called me because he knew that many would listen to me when I spoke,” Pacquiao told Politika 2013 in front of his close friends and local media in an impromptu preaching in his Lagao mansion after his arrival from Manila. Across the room were ABS-CBN anchor Korina Sanchez and her crew who earlier scheduled the boxer-lawmaker in an interview on the television show Balitang K.

An aide revealed only the ultimate fight with Floyd Mayweather could be the reason why Pacquiao would remain in the game.

In a separate interview, his adviser Michael Konz revealed that the fight with Bradley will happen on June 9 in the MGM Grand Arena. “It’s all set, June 9 in the MGM Grand,” Konz told this writer who begged off however to reveal the purse sharing of the fight.

Another close aide said Pacquiao will weigh his options after the event which came after the negotiation with a Mayweather encounter bogged down as the later would instead face Pacquiao’s left-over, Miguel Cotto.

On his spiritual transformation, Pacquiao admitted his imperfections and human frailties. He said he finally decided to bury them and be guided instead by his bible reading and belief that one should live in the teachings of God.

(I am now a born again since I already bury the wrongs that I did. Before I always cursed, the words that would come out from my mouth are not good, Then I did, womanizing, drink, gamble, all of which I did it. I fraternize a lot and did a lot of it but now it is gone). So, ganyan ang ( that has been my) worldly life ko pero ngayon kinalimutan na natin yan, wala na sa akin yan (but I already forgot it, I am not doing it anymore).”

Pacquiao said he is after his salvation in the afterlife, stressing that everything in the world is temporary.

We might die anytime, today, tomorrow, tonight, we do not know. The question is, do we have the key to enter the kingdom of heaven? “, the world boxing idol added in a mixture of English and Filipino.

Pacquiao emphasized that no matter what religion one has, it is always the action of one, especially his deep faith in God and his relation to the Divine Providence that would matter.

Ang Simbahan ok lang yan, hindi mo na kailangan magpalit ng simbahan para maligtas ka. Maliwanag sa bible eh, sa ( The church is okey, you do not need to change religion so that you will be save, The bible is clear in ) Matthew 7: 21, “not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven but the one who does the will of the father who is in heaven, yun ang malinaw, (that is clear).”

He said he would remain Catholic dismissing speculations that he already has been converted to the Protestant sect.

(I am ) Proud ako (as) a Catholic , I will remain a catholic but remember this religion says do, Jesus says done. Kaya nga (Such that) religion is obligation, what we need is relation, ganon ang panginoon, kailangan may relation tayo sa kanya. (God is like that we need to have a relation with him),” he said.

Cong. Manny Pacquiao gamely answers an interview with ABS-CBN anchor Korina Sanchez in General Santos City.

Asked on his political plans, the Sarangani lawmaker said he is still weighing his options but sources close to him said he might seek the gubernatorial post of the province and endorse a successor, among them, Vice Governor Steve Solon, who has been recommended by many of his political allies.

He said his spiritual awakening would not mean leaving politics but he would leave everything to the will of the people whom they would vote. The world famous boxer and pound for pound king said he would never resort to dirty political tactics.

Of course we would submit to election, I will run again but like before we would never resort to mudslinging. We leave it to the people to chose, we will never force them, It would be up to them to decide.” Pacquiao declared.

After the bible sharing session in Lagao which Politika 2013 has also attended, Pacquiao proceeded to the Kiamba, his residence in Sarangani, where he graced the 64thfounding anniversary and fiesta of the municipality, which also coincided with the annual Timpuyog festival of the town led by Mayor Danny Martinez,

The congressman brought along some GMA-7 talents and freelance artists in his Kiamba activities which included Dennis Padilla, Bayani Agbayani, Paolo Contis, John Regala, Benjie Paras, Onyok Velasco, Benjie Paras, Blakdyak, Long Mejia, Sheena Halili, among others.

Most of the screen idols also participated in the two day bible sharing session which was held in Tuka island, a white sand resort area in Kiamba which is also an ideal dive area because of its good sea habitat.

Pacquiao brought along his multi-million yacht named Sarangani Pride in the two day vacation along with his wife Jinkee where they celebrated their valentine’s day in the serene island resort.
